Yusmadi: Free education is responsibility of the central government

Malaysia is ready for free education,
Yb Yusmadi said free education means education that is funded through taxation
and non-profit organizations, including primary and post-graduates.
SHAH ALAM: Mohd Yusmadi Mohd Yusoff,
the members of parliament for Balik Pulau, Penang is from Parti Keadilan
Rakyat(PKR) justify Selangor not implementing free education because it is the
responsibility of the central government even though Selangor recorded a
surplus of RM2.5 billion last year.
According Yusmadi, free education can
be implemented by the federal government as he claimed, oil palm and petroleum
approaching RM150 billion annually. However, he acknowledges the federal
government in deficit.
Yusmadi is a legal (lawyer) and political
analysts, said this in his speech "Free Education in Malaysia A
Reality" at the International Convention and Education organized by the
state government Unisel here.
The Selangor government has two
universities, namely the University of Selangor (Unisel) which has a campus
here and the Bestari Jaya and the Selangor Islamic University (KUIS) in Bangi.
"Turkey also can give free
education to people as they distribute the wealth of the country for education.
Our problem in Malaysia, with priority given to large projects," he said.
PTPTN is very punishing to borrowers
